Playing in an orchestra can be one of the most satisfying and exhilarating of
musical experiences, giving the satisfaction of performing music to a live
audience and at the same time providing a deeper insight into the techniques of
the mainstream classical composers.
The Alderley Edge Orchestra is always keen to hear from potential new players,
particularly in the strings. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings at the
Scout Headquarters building in Talbot Road, Alderley Edge from 8.00 pm to 10.00
pm (map below).
The Orchestra gives three or four concerts each year at Alderley Edge Methodist
Church, Chapel Road and also holds an annual whole-day informal Workshop each
year to provide the opportunity to tackle larger scale works which would not
normally be performed in concert.
There is no formal audition - all we ask is that you come along to a few
rehearsals and decide for yourself whether you are able to contribute usefully
to the proceedings.
If YOU would like to consider joining the Orchestra, send us an email or ring Roger Dowling (01925 756390) in the first instance and we will be
delighted to hear from you.
New players always welcome
